Training and Simulation Technology
OptiMetrics is active in the development of new training technologies which immerse the trainees in realistic virtual environments. Many of our training applications use the Distributed Interactive Simulation/High Level Architecture (DIS/HLA) standards developed by the military for linking live, virtual and constructive training environments. We have developed DIS simulations of vehicle active protection systems and signal intelligence collection systems. We have demonstrated a DIS-based embedded simulation and developed video-game-like maintenance training software for the Stryker vehicle.
We are also developing tools to measure the effectiveness of various visual training strategies and enhance training effectiveness. In particular, we have developed improved methods of associating eye-tracker observations to visual scene objects.
