Virtual Maintenance Trainer
In this high-tempo military environment, combat vehicles are often not available for hand-on training of mechanics. Computer-based training is needed and cost effective to prepare soldiers before they receive “live” training on the actual vehicle.
OptiMetrics has designed a software framework to incorporate vehicle manuals and classroom material into an integrated computer-based training system. This framework has been applied to develop a virtual maintenance trainer on a CD for Stryker vehicle mechanics. This product was developed for the Combined Arms Training Center (CATC) at the Joint Multinational Training Command (JMTC). This CD based training package has also now been deployed to Stryker equipped brigades in Iraq and Afghanistan.
