OptiMetrics provides technical and engineering support to the Air Force Research Laboratory's Sensor Directorate, Advanced EO Sensor Technology for Combat ID Branch. This branch develops LASER Detection And Ranging (LADAR) technology for targeting and target identification. Additionally, support is provided to the AFRL LASER Sources Group involved with developing and testing new LASER concepts.

Robotic Sensing and Brownout Landing LADAR

OptiMetrics has designed, fabricated and tested multi-sensor LADAR breadboards for application to navigation applications. These sensors fused 3D LADAR data with passive sensor data to provide improved situational awareness for operators of robots navigating complex terrain and for pilots landing helicopters in low visibility (brownout) environments.
