The successful candidate will:

  • Lead development and implementation of models addressing contamination and decontamination of hazardous chemicals in support of cutting-edge technologies needed by the war fighter.
  • Develop model algorithms to describe contamination and decontamination processes, and the resulting vapor and contact hazards.
  • Work closely with laboratory scientists to design experiments required for model development and validation.
  • Write technical reports and papers, and make technical presentations.

A Ph.D. or equivalent in the physical sciences or chemical engineering is required. The successful candidate must also have:

  • Demonstrated proficiency applying finite-element and/or finite-difference techniques;
  • Experience modeling transport and diffusion phenomena;
  • Experience using MATLAB and MS Office;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

COMSOL experience is preferred. Post-doc experience is helpful. Salary commensurate with experience and education.
